When we embarked on the journey to establish AWRA, our vision was clear: to create a platform where African women, both on the grassroot and in the diaspora, could unite to advocate for our rights, amplify our voices, and drive transformative change. We recognized the pressing need for an organization that not only understands the unique challenges faced by African women and girls but is also led by those who have lived these experiences.

AWRA stands as a testament to the power of survivor-led initiatives. Our collective experiences have shaped a movement that is deeply rooted in empathy, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of justice. Through awareness campaigns, Educational Programs, and peer-to-peer support we strive to empower women and girls to reclaim their narratives and assert their rights.

Our approach is holistic and intersectional. We address issues ranging from gender based violence and female genital mutilation to reproductive rights. By collaborating with grassroots activists, policymakers, and international partners, we aim to dismantle systemic barriers and foster environments where African women can thrive.
